Left Hand Book House: Filling the Gap

Hi there, I'm Danielle, the founder of Left Hand Book House. Let me tell you how it all started!

In early 2022, my sports-obsessed toddler asked me for a basketball book. I searched high and low for something cute and simple that I could get for him. Much to my surprise, I could not find a single thing that fit my needs. There were a small handful of options, but they all felt a bit too complicated and detailed for a two-year-old.

As a parent of four children, I knew that at that age, they loved to point at objects on the page and shout them out. I'd seen several simple picture books on farm animals, trucks, colors, and all other sorts of categories- surely there must be something like that for sports? Right?

Well, I was sadly mistaken. I couldn't believe it! I decided then and there to take matters into my own hands. I set out to create something toddlers would love and that parents wouldn't mind displaying on their nursery bookshelves. After months of research, designing, re-designing, and lots of print samples...Let's Go! Baby came to life!

One of the things I wanted to ensure with Let's Go! Baby is that the books were designed to avoid overstimulation. As a parent myself, I know how overwhelming it can be to have a nursery or home full of bright, colorful toys and books. That's why I wanted to create something that was visually appealing but not overwhelming.

The illustrations in Let's Go! Baby are colorful and engaging, but they're not overly busy or complicated. Each page features just the right amount of detail to capture a toddler's attention without being overwhelming. This makes them perfect for introducing toddlers to sports without overstimulating them.

In addition to being designed to be low-stimulation, our books have also been designed to fit a modern and curated home. I know that as a parent, I want my kids' toys and books to fit seamlessly into my home's decor. That's why the books feature simple, modern designs and beautiful colors that look great on any bookshelf, whether it's in a nursery or your living room.

Left Hand Book House and our Let's Go! Baby series are a perfect example of how a gap in the market can lead to innovative solutions. By filling a need for high-quality, simple board books that introduce toddlers to sports, we've created a valuable resource for parents and caregivers.

I'm proud to offer a product that meets the needs of both parents and children, and I look forward to creating more books in the future that continue to meet those needs! Stay tuned to see what we come up with next!
